Composer, conductor and multi-instrumentalist, Jeremy Turner and Sound Designer and Re-Recording Mixer, Tim Nielsen have launched music and sound design collective, Echo & Wave.

The pair have individually worked on high profile commercials for the likes of Nike, Google, Apple and Beats, as well as coveted Super Bowl spots.

As Echo & Wave they will “bring together their collectively unrivaled talent and experience and do things a little differently.”

Jeremy Turner said: “We like to get involved early, sometimes even before the shoot. We love participating in the creative vision so that music and sound are cohesive to that vision, rather than doing a mad dash of searching through libraries at the end, hoping to get lucky. We adopt a tailored and crafted range of ideas, to make each project the best it can possibly be.”

Jeremy Turner says of  Tim Nielson,  “Tim is quite literally one of the top sound designers in the world, his list of credits is impressive to say the least. Beyond that, he is obsessed with sound, it’s a life passion for him, not just a job. In this day of having everything at your fingertips, you can quite simply download sounds or pull things from a stock library. Not Tim. He grabs a mic, walks out into the woods, and records what he needs to make things as authentic and real as can be.”

Tim Nielson says of Turner, “Jeremy is a composer who sits comfortably in any genre, from his work in advertising to his narrative and documentary work, to his symphonic compositions, he never ceases to amaze me with his capabilities. Our shared experiences have taught us both the desire to leave no stone unturned in our search for more emotional uses of sound and music, but also the need and ability to work fast and flexibly on a wide range of projects. We first met at the Sundance Labs, hosted at Skywalker.  It was immediately clear that we both had the same passion for exploring audio, believing that music and sound design always work best in tandem with each other. In the projects we’ve undertaken, that collaboration and understanding of what each of us can bring comes very naturally. Our goal is to offer our mutual expertise and passion and to forge new creative relationships.”

Jeremy Turner is a two time EMMY nominee, is a winner of the Music + Sound Award, the AICP Award, an ASCAP Screen Music Award, and has been listed in NPR Music’s Favorite Songs of the Year. he regularly writes film and television scores for Disney+, HBO Max, Netflix, and Hulu.

Tim Nielsen has worked on some of the highest grossing films of all time including Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Moana, Finding Dory, Avatar, SOLO: A Star Wars Story, There Will Be Blood, and most recently Jurassic World Rebirth. He has also mixed several award winning documentaries including The Cave, The Territory, and the upcoming film Viktor.
