The duo who co produced  Mackenzie Crook’s Small Prophets, have now formally launched their comedy indie, Blue House Productions.

The Manchester based company, formed by director Christine Gernon (Gavin & Stacey, Absolutely Fabulous, One Foot in the Grave, New Girl, St Denis Medical) and Executive Producer Emma Strain (Former VP of BBC Studios LA, Miranda BBC1) have a new development slate and have made a first senior appointment.

Blue House has hired Shaunna O’Brien as Development Producer. O’Brien joins from Sister Pictures and brings a track record in identifying and developing original comedy projects and a deep connection to the northern creative community.

The company is currently in development on several original projects across comedy and comedy drama, with further announcements to follow.

“We are serious about making great comedy with brilliant people and built Blue House Productions to be a home for those exceptional people to come and do their best work, knowing they’ll be properly backed. And if that sounds like somewhere you want to make something, come and find us. We’re just getting started,”  said Gernon and Strain.
