Two experienced children’s TV Producers have teamed to launch Three Arrows Media, which they bill as the first new British indie specialising in children’s live action content in a decade.
 
Former CBeebies Series Producer, and BAFTA winner, Jon Hancock and former Zodiak Kids Head of Development David Hallam have launched the new Manchester based company.
 
Three Arrows Media aims to create, develop and produce entertaining and engaging content for children and families around the world.

The indie has international development deal for a new talent-led factual entertainment show with Discovery Kids APAC.
 
It has also signed a development deal with CBeebies for a mixed media factual series and is the co-format owners of a new space-themed preschool entertainment series called Asra for S4C which goes into production in July.
 
Hancock said Three Arrows would specialize in live action for all age groups of children. He said that many kids indies are currently focused on animation, but that he sensed an opportunity for a new company in the live action space.

Hallam added that the indie would look to produce for traditional broadcasters, as well as new digital platforms. Three Arrows also will also explore producing live events for young audiences.
 
During 15 years with Children’s BBC, Hancock developed and produced series including Mr Bloom’s Nursery, Let’s Celebrate! and three Christmas Specials. Last November he won the Best Entertainment Series BAFTA for Swashbuckle – the first ever physical gameshow for preschoolers.
 
Hallam previously headed up development for three independent production companies: The Foundation/Zodiak Kids, Initial Kids/Endemol and Zenith Entertainment. He has been involved in the creation and development of over 30 series in the last 20 years, including Fort Boyard: Ultimate Challenge, Scrambled!, Zack & Quack, Floogals and Mister Maker’s Arty Party.
