Renegade Pictures has appointed Julia Harrington in the newly created role of Director of Factual and Factual Drama.

A Commissioning Editor at Channel 4 until 2014, Harrington’s commissioning credits include the BAFTA nominated Richard III: The King In The Car Park and factual drama series The Mill.

She will join the senior management team at Renegade, reporting into Editorial Director Alan Hayling, and working alongside CEO Alex Cooke, Director of Programmes, Harry Lansdown, and Creative Director, Alexis Price. She takes up the newly created role in July 2016.

A Warner Bros Television Production UK company, Renegade’s credits include Don’t Tell The Bride, which moves to Sky1 this month, single doc The Town That Took On The Taxman and fixed rig series The Tribe

Harrington said: "Renegade is one of the best in the business, their shows are provocative, smart and very human, made by people who really love TV. I can’t wait to join the team. Together we’ll make some ambitious new plays."

Harry Lansdown, Director of Programmes at Renegade Pictures, “We’re really delighted that someone of Julia’s immense experience and creative flair – both as a producer and then as a commissioner – has chosen to join us in a senior leadership role at Renegade.  We want to do more specialist factual programming and fact based scripted drama and Julia’s exactly the right person to help us achieve that.”
