Casual Films has rejigged its management as co-founder Barnaby Cook exits the business and investor Liam Goddard joins.

After 15 years with Casual Films, co-founder and CEO Barnaby Cook left the company in August 2021 pursue new ventures.

Barnaby and Nick Francis founded the London-based corporate production company in 2006. During Barnaby’s tenure, Casual grew to over 40 fulltime staff in 3 offices, London, New York, and Los Angeles, producing work for BMW, JPMorgan and Google. Nick will stay on as Chairman and CEO of the group.

Barnaby Cook said “I’m immensely proud of what we’ve achieved at Casual Films, the great team that we’ve built and the thousands of great films we’ve created for our clients. Reflecting on the past 15 years, I’m particularly proud that we were able to export the creativity and production processes that we’d built in the UK to the US market, which has and will continue to fuel growth and success.  I wish Nick and the Casual team all the best for the future.”

Nick Francis said: “Like Barnaby, I am so proud of everything we have accomplished together, the team we have built and the work we have done. We’ve come so far from our early days vlogging in the deserts of Turkmenistan to round the world productions and multiple offices. We have built life defining memories together, and that is a wonderful thing. On behalf of everyone in the Casual Films team, I wish Barnaby every success with his future ventures.”

Casual is joined by media investor Liam Goddard as a non-executive director. Goddard has spent nearly 20 years working with high-growth businesses from £5M-£5Bn.

Goddard said: “Casual Films is in an excellent position to capitalise on the next phase of development within the brand media space. I am looking forward to working with the team to unlock that growth and make it into the company that we know it can be. “

Francis said: “We’re so excited to be joined by someone of the intellect and standing of Liam Goddard. He has an excellent track record and an insightful values-oriented vision for effective business. As terrible as the whole Covid misadventure has been, it has finally shown the business world just how important their video communications are. With new offices in Chicago, Sydney/Melbourne and Asia, and our Ariel™ platform, we’re ready to deliver for them.”
