Infrastructure as a Service provider ERA has received investment from private equity firm, Rockpool Investments.

The investment will be used to scale up ERA’s IaaS offerings and support continued growth.

ERA was one of the first to provide cloud infrastructure-as-a-service solutions to customers within the post-production, visual effects and broadcast media sectors. The company offers virtual workstations, storage-as-a-service, workflow applications, connectivity and cloud archiving solutions, in both private and public cloud environments. ERA is based just outside London with significant datacentre facilities around London and the south east. International expansion is already underway in India and North America.

Commercial Director, Sean Baker and Financial Director, Mark Weston will continue at the helm of the company and will be joined by Roger Flynn, who joins the board as Non-Executive Chairman. Roger is a highly experienced private equity Chairman with extensive media and technology expertise.

Baker said: “We are excited to have Rockpool invest to support our growth and look forward to working with the Rockpool team and Roger. The demand for our services continues to grow and the investment from Rockpool allows us to increase resources and accelerate growth whilst ensuring we provide our clients with the high level of service they expect from ERA”

Tom Coey and Toby Hurdle led the investment for Rockpool. Tom Coey said, “ERA is well regarded in the media industry for its innovative IT solutions and longstanding client relationships. A shift in working patterns following COVID-19 and the relentless demand for original content from the media subscription giants, means that ERA is well placed to support its UK and international clients with a range of cloud IT infrastructure solutions. We are excited to be partnering with the management team and providing further capital to accelerate ERA’s growth trajectory.”
