The Whisper Group has invested in Moonshine Features, a new production company specialising in cinematic, scripted and non-scripted formats for domestic and international TV.
Founded and run by award-winning Creative Directors Michelle Crowther and Mike Reilly, Moonshine Features focuses on creating content that ‘opens doors into worlds you never thought existed’.
Its directors have worked talent including Michael Sheen, Helena Bonham Carter and Micky Flanagan, and produced a range of non-scripted prime-time shows such as Billy Connolly’s Route 66 and Billy Connolly’s Made In Scotland, Micky Flanagan’s Detour De France, Tate Britain’s Great Art Walks and Richard E. Grant’s Hotel Secrets, among others.
Michelle Crowther said: “Whisper’s core values were a huge draw for us in joining them; their drive and ambition are infectious to be a part of. They’ve been hugely supportive and the partnership provides a great opportunity to learn from one another.
Mike Reilly added: “We set up Moonshine Features to bring real cinematic storytelling to our talent-led, factual and arts slate and partnering with Whisper really allows us to be ambitious, as we realise our next stable of commissions. The possibilities going forward feel limitless.”
As part of The Whisper Group, Moonshine Features joins sport and entertainment company, Whisper as well as unscripted entertainment specialist East Media and motion graphics design agency Chapter 3 Graphics.
Sunil Patel, Whisper CEO commented: “Mike and Michelle have both demonstrated many times in their careers a real skill for working with incredible on-screen talent to tell engaging, cinematic stories. Having them onboard as Moonshine Features brings more significant experience to the Group and strengthens our overall offering. It also boosts our growing presence in non-scripted and scripted entertainment. We look forward to supporting Moonshine as needed, as they develop and grow.”
