Two Rivers Media has been commissioned by BBC Two to make a follow-up Frankie Boyle documentary for the channel.
Frankie Boyle Live: Excited For You To See And Hate This (1 x 45 min) comes off the back of Two Rivers’ four-parter, Frankie Boyle’s Tour of Scotland for BBC Two, which chronicled his live comedy tour.
Excited For You To See And Hate This features Frankie’s triumphant final show in Glasgow. He examines Glasgow’s relationship with swearing and vitamins, talks about the nature of controversy and comedy and turns his unflinching eye on Britain’s politics. He also discusses his own concerns on ageing, sex and buying a dog.
Mick McAvoy, Head of Factual, Two Rivers, says: “Frankie Boyle’s Tour of Scotland saw Frankie get under the skin of his home country as he travelled its length and breadth, and we were delighted with the reception it received. As a pre-Covid production, we were able to garner lots of compelling material. So, we saw an opportunity to approach BBC Two about the possibility of creating a follow-up show from the material we shot. We have a range of productions on the go at the moment and we are delighted to be able to continue delivering productions in these challenging times.”
Hamish Fergusson, Commissioning Editor, BBC Documentaries, says: “We’re very excited to be able to offer BBC Two viewers a standup show from Frankie at his unflinching best. After the success of his acclaimed Tour of Scotland last year, this is an exclusive chance to see the show he took on the road across his home nation for that series, and witness one of our rarest comedy talents at the height of his powers.”
Frankie Boyle Live: Excited For You To See And Hate This was commissioned by Hamish Fergusson for BBC Two. It is Exec Produced by Mick McAvoy and Nicky Waltham, directed by Graeme Hart and produced by Kirsty Macfarlane.
