Back in August last year, we published this short film and PDF guide with Sony exploring how tried and tested technology can help support social distancing on-set: talent from operator, operator from operator and production crew from production team.

Now seems a good time to put this back on the front page.

Although produced and written from the perspective of the Sony Venice, the guide takes in the use of products from Teradek, cmotion, Motion Impossible, Fujinon, Cooke Optics and others.

There is already a significant amount of content circulating about PPE and social distancing protocols on set but this guide has an explicit ambition to support scripted production by sharing ideas based on technology use that can further mitigate against Covid-19 disruption.

Some of the ideas may well be familiar, but combined the guide creates a foundation for internal dialogue that can stimulate production and help keep talent, crew and the production team safe and well on-set.
