Storage solutions company Symply is launching of a 160TB edition of its headline Thunderbolt 3 Shuttle Raid: SymplySpark.
Launched in 2021 as part of the new SymplyFirst portfolio, SymplySpark was originally offered in capacities up to 144TB. Now, with the availability of enterprise class 20TB HDDs, Symply has upgrade their platform’s capacity to 160TB.
“It’s important to keep evolving product lines to provide solutions to the capacity challenges faced on location and in the studio,” says Keith Warburton, ceo of Symply.
SymplySpark uses enterprise-grade HDDs to provide high-capacity storage at a lower cost than SSDs.
This shuttle Raid runs at up to 1,800MB/s at Raid 5 in benchmarking tests, fast enough for 4K and 8K+ workloads or visual effects.
Features include quiet cooling (less than 45 dB) and ‘lights out mode’ and field serviceability, allowing users to swap out drives, the fan, and power supply units.
