A big thank-you to all the guests, partners and sponsors who came to the Televisual Village Fete yesterday, June 29th and made it happen.

The fete took place at the beautiful and secluded Montague Street gardens. You can see the programme of events at https://www.televisualcreative.com/village-fete

The film you see above was mastered as 4K HDR on the day of the Televisual Village Fete and provides a taste of the event. A more complete version will follow early next week with more photos and a little detail about the workflow.

The village fete with a twist and a dash of gin was exceptionally well attended with over 300 coming from across the post and VFX community with streamer executives and post supers. As well as so many of the UK’s brightest technologists in attendance offering advice and showing the latest products. The event gathered pace from the start at 3.00pm with a very crowded garden at its peak and ended just before 9.00pm.

There were seven drinks tents serving champagne, Pimms, Aperol spritzers, G+Ts, Negroni, wine and beer with a ping pong tournament, giant Jenga, an amazing magician and blackjack and three food tents with fresh pastries, pizza and cakes while raising money for The Connection at St Martin in the Fields and the Disaster Emergency Committee Ukraine humanitarian appeal.

The highlight of the day was the demonstration of a full 4K HDR workflow from capture through dailies and deliverable files, with 4K HDR review at all of the five stations. It worked beautifully! A BIG thank you goes out to Tom, Kevin, Gary, Josh and Jerome at Mission for bringing this all together (it was a considerable undertaking), Rob and Alex at Motion Impossible for getting the camera roaming the garden and some exquisite shots, Jason and James at Jigsaw24 Media for creating the space and support for prep at Golden Square HQ, Tom and Terry at Dynamic for the Venice 2.0 camera, Marc and Luke at Boxer Systems for the engineering support, Dan and Carlo at CCK tech for the Jellyfish NAS SI, Adam and team at Big Pic Media for all five Sony monitors, Rupert at LucidLink for the Dejero connectivity, Keith and Richard at Symply for the LTO and local storage, Grace and Jane at Sandisk Professional for the back-up drives, Lexie for the Genelec speakers, Guy at AKA for the desks and chairs… and so many more. A full 4K HDR workflow from camera shooting 6K to dailies, reviewed in 4K HDR on all stations with a 4K HDR. There will be a more detailed version of this story to follow.

And a very big thank you to all of our sponsors for making this happen. We cannot stage such an ambitious event without your support. Thank you Lewis and Steve from Atomos and Holdan, Adam, Mia and Luke from Big Pic Media, Marc and Sally at Boxer Systems, Frank, Carlo and Dave at CCK tech, Sean and Gareth at ERA, Nick, Shiten and Chloe at Proline by Exacta, Keith, Richard and Nick at Global Distribution, Molly, Iain and Buzz at Hammerspace, Steve and Lexie at HHB, Jason, David and James at Jigsaw24 Media, Rupert at LucidLink, Gemma and Jess at Post Super, Tom at Quantum, Chris and Phil at Qumulo, Jane and Grace at Sandisk Professional, Joyce and Glenn at Soundz Fishy and Dom and Stephen at Take 1.
