All films made in the Straight 8 competition are shot on one cartridge of Super 8 with no editing and with contestants only seeing their film for the first time at the premiere, which normally takes place at the Cannes Film Festival.

The Wednesday premiere will be of the best 8 films of the Straight 8 competition. The premiere featured behind-the-scenes clips, video of the winners finding out they’d won, and video commentary on the films from the jury and other film industry figures.

On Thursday at 2pm is the straight 8 shootout live premiere – a live broadcast of the 13 films made by creative companies including Adam&EveDDB, Caviar, Partizan, Iris for the straight 8 shootout. All films were made in lockdown conditions, and all will be shown, however they came out.

The straight 8 2020 ‘London’ best 25 is on Friday at 8pm and will show the top 25 films from the straight 8 2020 competition open to the public.
