Camera and lighting rental company, Shoot Blue, has launched a ‘Shoot Now – Pay Later’ deal that offers extended 90-day payment terms for kit rental.

Shoot Blue says the scheme is aimed at helping freelancers and businesses restart existing projects that have been put on hold due to the Covid-19 working restrictions without having the immediate worry of covering the costs of the equipment rental.

Jon Howarth, managing director of Shoot Blue comments: “We understand that many production companies and freelancers are going through a very tough time financially at the moment. Managing cash flow will be a real concern for a lot of businesses going forwards and we are very aware that a lot of production projects only get paid once the project has been completed.”

“We wanted to do our bit to help revive and inspire confidence in film and television production, so we’ve decided to take this slightly unorthodox step of offering extended payment terms to our customers. I really hope that this new initiative will alleviate some of the immediate financial difficulties and uncertainty that many in the production sector, particularly freelancers and small businesses, are facing right now.”

The ‘Shoot Now – pay later’ scheme is open to new and existing Shoot Blue customers. Some terms and conditions will apply before the extended credit terms can be offered. The scheme will initially run for a 3 month period.
