ITV Studios-owned production house Potato has hired Sharon Powers to its team of Creative Directors.

Powers joins Potato this week and will play a key role in “widening the company’s portfolio and development slate.”

She was most recently Executive Producer at Love Productions, working on The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice for Channel 4.  Powers also oversaw the show on the BBC during a prior spell at Love that also included series two of Channel 4’s For the Love of Cars. In between her time there, Powers joined Lime Pictures as an Executive Producer on series two and three of Celebs Go Dating for E4.

Previously, Powers was at ITV Studios, where she exec-produced Loose Women and several series of Let’s Do Lunch with…Gino and Mel, and spent five years as Creative Director and Executive Producer at Endemol UK where she worked on Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother for Channel 4. This followed four years at Channel 4 as Commissioning Editor for Factual Entertainment & Entertainment, looking after shows including Big Brother, TFI Friday and The Big Breakfast.

Michael Kelpie, Managing Director at Potato, said: “Brilliant, talented and creative people are at the heart of our success and blistering growth. I am thrilled to welcome Sharon to Potato. She is the perfect addition to our team and I’m really excited about the year ahead. I’ve made no secret of the fact that we are looking to increase our commissions off ITV and, with her huge experience and in-depth knowledge of the industry, Sharon is joining us at the perfect time to help us achieve this goal.”
