Screen Glue, the indie founded by Walking With Dinosaurs’ Jasper James, has hired Matt White to spearhead non-scripted development.
White joins from Roughcut TV where he was head of non-scripted, working across entertainment, comedy, factual entertainment and factual titles. While there he produced both series of Delete, Delete, Delete for BBC Northern Ireland, Churchill and Me with Hugh Dennis for Discovery and co-produced two series of Tyger Takes On… for BBC Three. He has also worked in production and development roles at companies including RDF, Avalon and ITV Studios.
Screen Glue’s recent credits include Size Matters (2 x 60) for the BBC, ZDF/ZDFE and Arte, and it has just delivered A Day in the Life of Earth (1 x 90/2 x 45) for CBC, BBC, France 5 and ZDFE. Matt White will now work alongside Jasper James to further grow Screen Glue’s slate, with a particular focus on returning series.
Jasper James said: “Our strength comes from drawing on a depth of experience across all genres, from high-end factual and scripted to CGI and even kids, and then using it to take non-scripted to brave new places. That’s what Screen Glue does best and Matt’s uncanny ability to format factual ideas, alongside his expertise in comedy and entertainment, will certainly add a few more shiny strings to our bow and ensure we continue to create the shows that no-one else has yet thought of.”
Matt White said: “From Walking with Dinosaurs to A Day in the Life of Earth, Jasper has a real vision for producing major landmark projects with global reach. I’m excited to join Screen Glue and to work alongside him in developing our next big projects to bring to the screen.”
