Editing solutions company Salon is launching SalonSync Link, a mobile app designed to enhance the capabilities of its remote editing platform, SalonSync.

The phone app offers clients control over their SalonSync boxes and gateways, with insights and management of workspaces, users and access to fast technical support. It comes alongside a new desktop app and significant updates to the systems infrastructure to further enhance reliability, security and support an increasing client demand.

“Our clients’ need for greater system visibility and control from wherever and whenever inspired us to create something mobile for them to use” says Nick Long, Managing Director at Salon. “Now in its 5th year, SalonSync has become the trusted backbone for productions of all scales, and the SalonSync Link app is just the beginning of the next phase of that. Our roadmap includes exciting new features already in development.”

SalonSync Link allows clients to monitor media transfers and workflow status in real time, whether in the editing room or on the go as well as keep an eye on the status of their team’s individual SalonSync boxes. In addition, the MASV.io integration allows users to track their media transfers from set to edit.

“Integrating file transfer and management notifications from MASV in the SalonSync Link app is just another example of how Salon continues to push boundaries with innovative, industry-leading solutions for its clients,” says MASV CTO Majed Alhajry. “Keeping editorial and post-production teams up-to-date in real-time right in the app, via the MASV API, will help teams stay connected and scale their effectiveness even more—whether in studio or in the field.”

Since its inception in 2020, SalonSync has supported hundreds of projects across 23 countries, including the USA, UK, Australia, South Korea and Canada. Recent projects such as Betterman, the Robbie Williams biopic, StudioCanal’s Paddington in Peru, and Apple TV’s Blitz by Steve McQueen have all benefited from SalonSync’s cutting-edge capabilities and global reach.
