Rohde & Schwarz has announced the transfer of its Clipster mastering solution to CineCert.

Clipster is recognized as the standard for mastering in the media and entertainment sector and has a large global customer base with leading studios and post-production houses.

This move, says Rohde & Schwarz, is part of its “new strategy to focus on software-based solutions in the broadcasting market with their leading products for channel origination/playout and multiviewing.”

“For decades, Rohde & Schwarz has supported the media industry with innovative and high-quality technology to meet the demanding standards for professional content production,” said Thorsten Sauer, Vice President Rohde & Schwarz Media Solutions. “As we transfer the product over to CineCert, we want to assure our customers that their needs remain top priority and the product has a bright future in the portfolio of an expert in the field like CineCert. Our focus is on innovation within the media broadcasting space.”

Professional support for Clipster will be taken over by CineCert.

“For more than 20 years, Clipster has set the standard for digital motion picture finishing. First from DVS and then Rohde & Schwarz, Clipster has remained the benchmark for quality cinema mastering and we are excited at the opportunity to make it even better,” said John Hurst, CTO of CineCert. “We will be on a dual track of new feature development and the continuation of a great tradition of reliable and timely professional support. In addition, the integration of CineCert’s existing products and code base with Clipster will provide users with streamlined workflows and enhanced opportunities in areas such as automation, asset management, and key distribution.”
