RED DIGITAL CINEMA is to debut its new V‑RAPTOR XE at BSC Expo this week.
The V‑RAPTOR XE is the latest addition to the Z Cinema lineup, which “distills the power of the V‑RAPTOR [X] into a sleek, focused system built for cinematic storytelling.”
Attendees will also have the opportunity to explore RED’s V‑RAPTOR [X] and KOMODO‑X, through hands‑on engagement at Stand 022.
The V‑RAPTOR XE delivers large‑format, cinema‑grade performance at a more accessible $14,995 entry point. Built on RED’s V‑RAPTOR [X] architecture, the XE introduces a streamlined design that curates the essential features for storytelling with new system‑level efficiencies enhanced by updated firmware.
The V‑RAPTOR XE offers versatile capture options with frame rates up to 60 frames per second (fps) in 8K VV, 80 fps in 6K S35, 120 fps in 4K, and 240 fps in 2K. A recent beta firmware update delivers further gains in boot speed and sensor power performance. It features 17 stops of dynamic range and “unmatched” low‑light capability, RF or Nikon Z mount options, and a compact body just over four pounds.
RED will also be demonstrating its newly released beta firmware, 2.2 for the V‑RAPTOR [X] platform—including the new V‑RAPTOR XE—delivering “major advancements” in power efficiency, boot speed, virtual production workflows, and integrations with RED Cine‑Broadcast and RED Connect.
