Plimsoll Productions is shopping its David Attenborough-fronted Secret Garden to the USA as a format to be remade in the States.

The series, which has proved to be a major hit for the BBC, is described by Plimsoll as a “first of its kind natural history format with the ability to be adapted in any territory.”

The original 5×60’ series for BBC One and iPlayer is set in five different gardens across the UK. David Attenborough reveals the lives of the secretive animals that inhabit the hidden world right on our doorsteps. “Theirs is no cozy existence – even in these beautiful and seemingly gentle surroundings the rules of the wild still operate. You’ll never look at your garden the same way again.”

The US version will bring viewers to the backyards of America – “from the heartlands to the Rockies to city skylines.”

Grant Mansfield, CEO of Plimsoll Productions, says: “Secret Garden has been the breakout new unscripted format hit on UK TV in 2026, attracting an audience share of 30%+, retaining audience throughout the series and doubling its audience volume on 28-day digital views. We’re excited to bring this magical, uplifting and revealing family show to the States where garden secrets are even more amazing and a whole lot bigger”.

Plimsoll most recently produced the global Netflix event Skyscraper Live, which attracted 22m viewers worldwide and 1B social media impressions, and will soon premiere Pompeii out of Time with Tom Hiddleston on Disney+ and Force of Nature on ITV this summer.
