Netflix has launched its Post Technology Alliance logo programme which will be awarded to products and services that meet with Netflix’s technical and delivery specifications.

The Netflix Post Technology Alliance already includes industry leaders in four categories: cameras, creative editorial, colour grading, and IMF packaging, with products from Adobe, Arri, Avid, Blackmagic Design, Canon, Colorfront, Fraunhofer IIS, Filmlight, Marquise Technologies, MTI Film, Ownzones, Panasonic, Red Digital Cinema, Rohde & Schwarz, and Sony now bearing the logo.

Netflix says that over time, it will add more products in these initial categories and expand the categories to include sound production, dubbing, and other disciplines in post-production.

Manufacturers of products bearing the logo have early access to the Netflix technical roadmap and collaborate with Netflix on technical support, training, and updates.

Products not bearing the logo will not be barred from Netflix productions as the programme will not attempt to cover every type of tool used throughout a production. Netflix is also insisting that the programme is not a prescription for which products to use but rather the logo is an identifier to quickly tell if a product has been vetted for delivery to Netflix.
