1917 producer Neal Street Productions is expanding its TV and film development team with the addition of Jessica Burdett, who joins as Executive Producer, and Jessica Da Silva as Development Coordinator, to work with Executive Producer Julie Pastor and Head of Development Lola Oliyide.
Neal Street Productions, an All3Media company, aims to build on its current slate which includes three further series of Call the Midwife for BBC & PBS, original HBO comedy pilot The Franchise and recently announced film adaptation of Hamnet to be directed by Chloé Zhao and starring Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal. The company also have three sell-out theatre productions currently running – Hamnet at the RSC in Stratford, The Lehman Trilogy and The Motive and the Cue with the National Theatre in London.
Jessica Burdett will be developing her own slate of projects in close collaboration with Neal Street’s company directors, Nicolas Brown, Pippa Harris and Sam Mendes. She worked at Left Bank Pictures for 7 years across its slate as Script Executive, Head of Development and most recently as Executive Producer. She was responsible for the Netflix show Behind Her Eyes and Paramount+’s forthcoming Insomnia. Before Left Bank, Jessica was a script editor at the BBC working across a broad range of scripts both in development and production. She started her career at Carnival Films as assistant to Brian Eastman.
Jessica Da Silva most recently worked for Grey Seal Media as Development Coordinator and before that was Production Coordinator at BBC Studios for Behind The Screens Film having also worked for them as Production office Assistant for EastEnders. She has held previous positions at Creative Futures, BFI and Underbelly Festival among others. She is also part of ITV’s 2023 mentor scheme.
