MetFilm School offers a concentrated 20-week Full-Time Certificate, offering students a head-start in the world of post production, covering skills including editing, audio mixing, VFX, and colour grading. With the support of tutors, former students have gone on to leading roles in post production; an industry sector crying out for new talent. The next course starts this April, and MetFilm School are currently accepting applications.
Earlier this month, the British Film Institute (BFI) revealed that £5.64 billion was spent on British Film and High-End TV Production in 2021. The challenge for the UK Film and HETV sector is not based on demand, but on the ability to fulfil it with inward investment for 2022 forecast to be much higher again. All industry estimates conclude that the sector needs at least another 30,000 skilled workers to satisfy this demand. There is a shortage of production talent with the required craft skills across all production disciplines.
This means that there has never been a better time to start your career within the screen industry, and MetFilm School is here to help you do just that.
Former MetFilm School students have gone on to work at the BBC, Disney, and Universal on projects including Blade Runner 2049, Star Wars, and Spectre. Hear from former students
Still not sure if a Certificate at MetFilm School is for you? Here’s what Katherine Lee, a former Post Production student, had to say about the course…
‘The course suited me much better [than university] as it was full-time, so I was always busy – it prepared me well for working life. I was also attracted to this course as there were no exams or essays; it was 100% practical experience which, again, prepared me well for the world of work.
“During the course, we worked on many projects, including real-life productions, meaning we had hands-on experience with the kind of things we would be dealing with after the course. We worked on short films, branded content style projects, corporate work, commercials, and ads. We covered most aspects of post production including editing, audio mixing, visual fx, and colour grading, which I particularly enjoyed.
At the end of the course, I went straight into working on a project arranged by MetFilm School’s career support team!’
