MediaCity Studios has upgraded its production infrastructure with an enhanced end-to-end Avid production ecosystem, including the deployment of Avid | Stream IO.
As part of the deployment, MediaCity Studios has selected Avid | Stream IO to modernise its ingest and playout capabilities. The facility now operates 44 channels of Avid | Stream IO, supporting AVC, XAVC, 1080p and UHD workflows, helping manage large-scale, multi-camera productions, supporting remote recording and editing, and enabling clients to ingest content across a range of platforms and formats.
“We needed a flexible solution that could support any of our customer needs while integrating easily into the workflows we use every day,” said Jon Hatto, Head of Production Technology at MediaCity Studios. “Avid gave us a solution that worked out of the box and didn’t require heavy customization or development work. What really gave us confidence was working closely with Avid’s product and solution teams and having visibility into the roadmap, so we knew it would continue to meet our requirements.”
MediaCity Studios’ latest deployment builds on its existing Avid infrastructure, which includes MediaCentral for media asset management with Avid NEXIS shared storage, MediaCentral | Cloud UX for video review, logging and editing, and Media Composer as its nonlinear editing platform.
