Saturday night entertainment show Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and McIntyre-hosted gameshow The Wheel, both from Hungry Bear Media, are returning to BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Twelve parter The Wheel  first aired in 2020 and was the highest new BBC Entertainment launch in a decade with episode one consolidating at 6.8m viewers. Contestants hope to answer their way to a fortune, guided by seven celebrities and the spin of the wheel.

The six part series of the Big Show will be recorded in front of a live audience at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.

Dan Baldwin, managing director Hungry Bear Media said: “We can’t wait to bring two of the nation’s favourite Saturday night shows back to BBC One. If you’ve missed seeing Gino D’Acampo in his pants at midnight, a firefighter singing Opera or Jamie Oliver texting everyone in his phone that he loves chicken nuggets – then you’re in for a real treat!”

Kate Phillips, BBC director of Entertainment Commissioning said “We’re delighted that Michael McIntyre is bringing not one but two shows back to BBC One. As always the Big Show will be full of big laughs, big surprises and so many memorable moments. And we can’t wait to see more celebrities getting into a spectacular spin on The Wheel!.”

Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel have been commissioned by Kate Phillips, director of Entertainment Commissioning BBC. The executive producers for Hungry McBear Media for The Wheel are Dan Baldwin and Tom Blakeson. The commissioning editor for the BBC is Kalpna Patel-Knight.

Transmission details for Michael McIntyre’s Big Show will be announced in due course.

The third series of Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel will return later this year on BBC One.
