Sound design and music company Machine, Final Cut’s sister company, has appointed Brice Cagan as its new Head of Music.

Composer Cagan arrives at Machine’s London studios with a decade of experience in the US and UK, composing for iconic brands including Disney, HBO, Ubisoft, Playstation, Budweiser, Honda and the 2016 and 2018 Olympics. Alongside his commercial portfolio, Cagan’s writing credits include music for film and video game trailers, and both studio and independent long-form series.

In 2019, Cagan founded Black & White Sounds, an LA-based custom music company, specialising in advertising, trailers and television. The company expanded in 2020, with the opening of a studio in London and a focus on sonic branding.

“The talent at Machine is amazing and their attitude makes working here an absolute pleasure,” said Cagan. “It’s incredibly exciting to have such high-calibre sound design and music working together under one roof. We now have opportunities to integrate post-production in a creative and streamlined way.”

Machine’s Executive Producer Matej Oreskovic said: “I have had the pleasure of working with Brice for the past two years. His composition skills, versatility and music knowledge are a rare find. We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome him into the Machine family.”

Head of Production, Louise Baker, said: “Brice brings a wealth of experience to the team, along with intuition and enthusiasm – we are excited to build our music composition offering with him.”
