Factual entertainment producer LSP TV is making two new shows for 4K broadcasters TernTV/Insight for global release in 2017, King of the Hammers and Rotor Rage.

Rotor Rage (6×60-min), created by executive producer Marc Hayward, will bring together the world’s top drone racers to navigate circuits in locations outside of Los Angeles.

Series Producer James Capria said “We’re excited to be the first producers to incorporate drone racing into an entertainment format.  We’re also shooting in 360 so with an interactive VR headset, the viewer will be thrown into the pilot’s seat and will experience flight in first person view.”

Executive Producer Marc Hayward added “The controller used on an Xbox or Playstation is a facsimile to that of racing or controlling a drone, we’re in closing stages of launching a software based simulator that will run alongside the show creating an e-sports league which will determine the contestants for the next series.”

King of the Hammers is an 8×60-min commission will cover what is billed as world’s toughest off-road rally racing event.  Filmed between February and October LSP TV will capture the drama of a sport that has been described as ‘Mad Max meets Fast and Furious’.

Director Chris Hook (Top Gear) will shoot in 4K and also in 360, so with an interactive headset the viewer can experience the rally in VR.  LSP TV will also be capturing in-race dialogue from the drivers in their unlimited off-road buggies as they compete in the 200 mile nonstop mountain rock and flat out desert race.

Rotor Rage and King of the Hammers were created by Executive Producer Marc Hayward and will be series produced by James Capria and directed by Chris Hook.

Both will be broadcast on NBC Sport in the US and King of the Hammers will air on CCTV1 in China.
