Ingenuity Studios, one of Streamland Media’s vfx divisions, has established a London office and appointed former DNEG and MPC staffer Patrick Dean as executive producer and office lead.

Dean will lead the growth of Ingenuity Studios in the UK, working with studio leadership to build a team of artists and staff. He will also oversee client relationship management within the region. Dean’s previous projects include Slow Horses, SAS Rogue Heroes, Lisey’s Story, Chernobyl, Outlander, Thor: The Dark World and Captain Phillips.

“We’re enthusiastic about having a presence in the United Kingdom, and it’s important to note that we’ve been thoughtful about the kind of person we wanted to lead our team for our European flagship,” said David Lebensfeld, founding partner and VFX supervisor at Ingenuity Studios. “We found that leader in Patrick. He is already working seamlessly with the greater team, and he’s aligned with the intentional culture that we have established and cultivated over the years.”

“Patrick is joining our studio at an exciting time in a part of the world that is particularly appealing to our clients,” said Grant Miller, partner and VFX supervisor at Ingenuity Studios. “The studio is in growth mode and taking on lots of exciting new projects. We’re also recruiting amazing talent for our London office, and have received a ton of interest from candidates already!”

Dean was at the forefront in the opening of the TV department at both DNEG and MPC and was part of teams that won a Broadcast Award special commendation for Lisey’s Story, as well an Emmy for best visual effects for Chernobyl.
