Here’s the vfx breakdown for nineteentwenty’s work on the new Ford Ranger ‘Go Break It In’ ad featuring a quarry explosion.

Shot in a Quarry In Slovenia the nineteentwenty team was tasked with creating an explosion behind and around the ford Ranger. The Quarry was Lidar scanned to give a CG model of the terrain. Debris and exploding dust were simulated in CGI and then composited into the scene to create the VFX of this epic shot, camera shake was added to help increase the effect.

It was directed by Marcus Soderlund at Academy.
