ITV has appointed the editor of Radio 4’s The Archers, Huw Kennair-Jones, to its drama commissioning team.

Kennair-Jones will take commissioning responsibility for the biggest continuing dramas on the network, Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

Kennair-Jones joined the Archers at the end of September last year.

His background is in TV commissioning and production; he has produced dramas including Medici: Masters of Florence, New Tricks and Waterloo Road, as well as working in drama commissioning at Sky for six and a half years, on dramas including Strike Back, Mad Dogs, The Last Witch, Fleming, Falcon, The Runaway and Going Postal.

Prior to joining Sky, Kennair-Jones worked in production, in roles including Series Producer on Sky 1’s Dream Team, Story Producer on Eastenders, and Producer for Holby City.

He replaces Jane Hudson who joined indie Eleven this year as an executive producer.
