BBC Studios backed entertainment indie Mettlemouse has appointed Katrina Grant as Director of Development.

Grant, the former Head of Development at Gladiators indie Hungry Bear, will oversee the company’s development team and work closely with Founder Sarah Tyekiff and Creative Director Shaun Parry to “create the next generation of unscripted international hits.”

Tyekiff said, “Katrina has been heavily involved in some of the biggest shows of the past 10 years. Having entered into funded developments in such a short space of time, we’re thrilled to continue the momentum and get someone with Katrina’s expertise on board.”

Grant said, “I couldn’t be happier to be joining Sarah and Shaun at Mettlemouse. I cannot wait to get cracking and achieve our ambition of creating award-winning unscripted formats for a UK and global audience.”

Grant’s credits at Hungry Bear include The Wheel, Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad, Freeze The Fear with Wim Hof and current ratings smash Gladiators. Her background also includes BAFTA award-winning shows Gogglebox and TOWIE, as well as the development and original casting of MTV’s Geordie Shore.
