Brighton post facility, The Edit, has strengthened its audio offering with the appointment of Dubbing Mixer, Sam Castleton.
Castleton brings over 20 years’ experience mixing high-end productions at Halo, Splice and Clear Cut across factual, natural history, drama and film, strengthening The Edit’s HETV capabilities. His credits include Our Universe, Welcome to Earth, The Surgeons Cut and Secrets of the Elephants.
The Edit’s current slate includes BAFTA-winning The Jury: Murder Trial (ScreenDog / C4), Hidden Treasures of the National Trust (Blast Films / BBC), What Not To Eat (Plum Pictures / C4), Interior Design Masters (DSP / BBC) and BAFTA-winning The Repair Shop (Ricochet / BBC). The facility recently collaborated on two-part drama Vengeance: Murder on the Heath (Directed by Aysha Rafaele for C4) and multi award-winning feature film ROW, (Directed by Matt Losasso).
Founder Dave Austin said: “Sam will be working alongside our renowned colourist Josh Cordell, and so this move really cements a top-class, craft-driven finishing team. With a creative team of this calibre, and detailed workflow design by our Technical Director, Sharman Finn, we continue to be able to take on complex projects of every scale, whether that be streamer dramas or multi-episode, multi-camera reality series.”
Castleton, who is local to Brighton added: “I’ve been watching The Edit grow over the years and I’m now excited to be embarking on my next chapter here. There’s a genuine, tight-knit, team feeling amongst the staff and clients which I’m delighted to become a part of. The facility is a beautifully considered space, with a fresh creative energy running throughout and fantastic modern kit to work with.
