Oxford Circus based post house Directors Cut Films has made a “significant investment” in an expansion of its picture and audio facilities and has taken on another floor of its Great Portland Street building.

The investment includes adding more offline edit suites, the purchase of a Baselight 2 grading system for their newly refurbished main grading suite and expanding and updating the audio department.

The Baselight 2 grading system, with Sony X300 monitoring, now offers a true 4K grading solution.

This, together with Baselight’s "Editions" plugins being added to their Avid Media Composer online suites, completes the grading workflow. Additionally, Resolve 15 finishing systems, Cinedeck Rx2 and CineXTools (for file based layback and insert editing), ProTools Ultimate, along with Avid S6 consoles were also acquired.

Directors Cut Films Managing Director Mark Manning said “The decision to invest was based on more interest in 4K, Ultra HD and HDR for the likes of Netflix and Amazon. We thought this was the ideal time and opportunity to be ready to provide these services. Our vision is to remain one of the leading post-production providers in the West End, and this investment should show we are well placed to meet the latest delivery needs of all our clients”
