CTV Outside Broadcast, part of the Euro Media Group UK, has launched the latest addition to its fleet, OB12A, which hit the road recently at the Irish Open 2020 for European Tour Productions.

CTV says that OB12A has the biggest production and operational space in any vehicle worldwide and is one of the brand-new fully IP truck from end to end built by Euro Media Group this year. OB12A also has a little sister on the way, OB12B that will work alongside OB12A to create a powerhouse in the TV compound when it is launched later this year. Both trucks are fitted with diPloy, Euro Media Group’s new IP-workflow which combines Audio, Video, Intercom, Monitoring and Data by using one integrated network.

OB12A is fully scalable, which is the key to anything that CTV and EMG ensure going forward. It is capable of managing the largest productions and has an incredible armoury of state-of-the-art technology”, said Hamish Greig, CEO at CTV OB. He added: “The OB12 A & B trucks working together will not only increase efficiency and broadcast goals for CTV OB’s clients, but will also have a large sustainability influence for the company.”

OB12A is powered by its own separate Data Centre parked alongside. Called TSV12, this dual-purpose unit contains the core technology for OB12A. TSV12 is fitted with solar panels on its roof, furthering sustainability goals. By separating the core technology into TSV12 means that OB12A has the most spacious production and operational area in any vehicle worldwide. It can support up to 40 people working on board across three production areas, one vision area and one sound area.

The truck is equipped with ultra-modern technologies such as the Cerebrum Broadcast Controller as well as DANTE and AES 67 audio networks.
