Kids and family production and distribution outfit CAKE, has completed the acquisition of the Jetpack Distribution brand, doubling the size of the company’s catalogue to 3200 half hours of high quality kids and family series.
CAKE also announces the subsequent restructuring of its business across its sales, distribution, marketing and acquisitions functions.
Former Jetpack CEO Dominic Gardiner will join CAKE as Managing Director of Distribution, leading the sales, marketing and acquisitions teams of CAKE’s distribution arm. Reporting to CAKE’s board of directors: Group CEO Ed Galton and Group CFO & COO Cat Seddon.
CAKE’s Group CEO Ed Galton continues to oversee CAKE’s four main businesses: CAKE Distribution, CAKE Production, Popcorn Digital and Kickstart Production.
Jetpack’s former Sales Manager Toby Jones joins CAKE as Senior Sales Manager, working alongside veteran Sales Director Julien Farcat, both of whom will be reporting to Dominic Gardiner.
New series carried over from Jetpack, and added to CAKE’s catalogue, include icons such as Dennis and Gnasher Unleashed, Moley, Talking Tom and Friends, Mechamato, The Clangers and more.
Jetpack Distribution was a leading kids and family content distributor that found homes for high quality, character-driven shows within its 1900 half hour catalogue. The company was consistently rated in the Kidscreen HOT 50 top three (for five consecutive years).
Cat Seddon worked closely with Charles Whelan of Polestar CF to achieve the strategic acquisition, with GBH Law advising.
