Channel 5 has commissioned Question Time indie Mentorn to make a three-part series, with the working title Crash Investigators, that follows the delicate work of the crash investigations teams in North Yorkshire, one of the most dangerous driving counties in the UK.

The show was ordered by Channel 5 commissioning editor, Adrian Padmore, at Content London.

With unprecedented access, each episode will offer new insight into the county’s road policing teams and crash investigators, providing comprehensive coverage of entire investigations, from the life-saving attempts at the crash scene to the final court cases and ultimate conclusion. With each incident, viewers will follow investigators as they work meticulously to find out what happened, gradually piecing together all the information and providing answers for the families involved.

Padmore commented “At Channel 5 we’re always looking for new access on familiar topics to keep our schedules fresh and exciting. We know that our viewers enjoy watching the emergency services at work and this series will provide them with a new angle, enabling them to dive much deeper into crash investigations from start to finish, and gain rare insight into the painstaking work that goes on behind the scenes.”

Crash Investigators has been commissioned for Channel 5 by Padmore and will be executive produced by Tayte Simpson for Mentorn Media, part of the Tinopolis group.
