BBC Studios Productions has appointed Adeline Ramage Rooney as Creative Director for Factual Entertainment and Events in Scotland, based at its Glasgow hub.

The Fact Ent team make content ranging from Top Gear to Countryfile and The One Show to Dragons’ Den. Its Events Productions team produce Royal Ceremonial Event coverage such as last year’s VE Day 75: The People’s Celebration and the recent funeral of His Royal Highness, The Duke of Edinburgh.

Ramage Rooney, who will report into Hannah Wyatt, MD for Factual Entertainment and Events at BBC Studios Productions, will be charged with supporting growth in Scotland by building more capability in the market for the genre, winning more business, and providing a strategic approach to delivering new and existing IP that can be produced from the nation.

She will be the base lead for the existing Fact Ent team and work closely with the Creative Director of Development and the wider team. She will also collaborate with the Executive Producers, Series Producers and Heads of Department across the division and continue to build upon and expand Fact Ent and Events’ existing production slate to create a successful business for the future.

Ramage Rooney, who recently returned from 11 years in Los Angeles, has created, adapted and served as Executive Producer on numerous US primetime network hits including Emergency Call for ABC and Hotel Hell, MasterChef, MasterChef Junior and Kitchen Nightmares for FOX.

She founded the Los Angeles-based production company 8HOURS TV in 2018 after seven years as a Creator and Showrunner on multiple projects with Gordon Ramsay and All3Media’s One Potato Two Potato. She was also  creative executive consultant developing multiple US network, SVOD and cable projects with BBC Studios’ LA Unscripted team as well as premium content for Silicon Valley-based celebrity education platform, MasterClass.com.

Prior to her US move in 2010, Ramage Rooney was a commissioning editor for Channel 4 Features department overseeing development and output of a slate of lifestyle shows including The F Word and Gordon’s Great Escape. She had previously cut her teeth as a Showrunner and Producer/Director on Fact Ent hits How to Look Good Naked, The Sex Education Show, You Are What You Eat and 10 Years Younger for C4, and MasterChef and Arrange Me a Marriage for the BBC.
