Air Productions, a Banijay Group company, in co-production with FremantleMedia France, is to revive the original UK format Everybody’s Equal or Que Le Meilleur Gagne for France 2.

An initial 22 episodes of the show will launch on June 12 stripped at 18.50, with founder and head of Air Productions Nagui reinstated as host. The revival of the show will mark the 20th anniversary of its debut on France 2, which attracted highs of up to 53% audience share in prime time.

Everybody’s Equal ran on primary broadcaster ITV in the UK from 1989 to 1991 and was hosted by Chris Tarrant. At that time it was also adapted in several countries including Japan, Quebec and France where it aired from 1991 to 1992 on La Cinq, then from 1992 – 1995 on Antenne 2 (which became France 2) with Nagui as host.

Nagui comments, “Que Le Meilleur Gagne is a classic, evergreen game show format. Its combination of fun and simplicity is a winning formula which pulls in great numbers.”

FremantleMedia will exclusively distribute the new version of Everybody’s Equal internationally.
