Zinc Media Group has acquired ‘blue light’ indie Raw Cut.

Raw Cut has built a strong reputation in ‘blue light’ programming over 20 years, including long-running series such as Road Wars and Police Interceptors. Raw Cut will now be able to plug into Zinc’s ‘Group Platform’ – a “suite of support services designed to strengthen production businesses within the group.”

Founded in 2002, Raw Cut brings a legacy of over 800 hours of factual television, including award-winning True Crime, History and Feature Documentaries, as well as long-standing partnerships with Netflix, Sky, BBC, Channel 4, ITV, and Discovery.

With production centres in London and Cardiff, Raw Cut brings a “coveted” Welsh presence to Zinc’s nations presence in Scotland and Northern Ireland, enhancing its “ability to represent audiences around the UK, to tell a more diverse set of stories, and to respond to market demand for more out-of-London programming.”

Raw Cut also bring an international distribution division, based in London, which will support Zinc’s tactic to deliver greater secondary programme value.

This acquisition is a “key step” in Zinc’s strategic expansion, “underscoring its commitment to producing trusted, high-quality content across a broad range of genres and nations.”

Mark Browning, CEO of Zinc Media Group, said: ‘We are thrilled to welcome Raw Cut to Zinc Media Group. Their expertise in ‘Blue Light’ and documentary programming aligns perfectly with our vision for world-class factual content. This acquisition strengthens our production capabilities, expands our IP catalogue, and reinforces our commitment to regional storytelling’.

Steve Warr, CEO of Raw Cut, added: ‘Joining Zinc Media Group presents an exciting opportunity for Raw Cut. We’re proud of our legacy in producing must-watch television, and this partnership allows us to collaborate with Zinc’s talented team to broaden our reach and accelerate growth’.
