Entries have now opened for the 2024 Young Animator of the Year competition.

Young Animator of the Year UK 2024, an ACCESS:VFX initiative, is an industry-judged short film competition for animators aged 11–18.

Entries for the competition can be 3D, 2D or stop motion animation and will be judged by professional artists and animation industry experts

Prizes include trophies and exclusive tours of UK animation studios with winning films announced and premiered at the Manchester Animation Festival

Previous YAY UK winners have landed roles at studios including Blue Zoo and The Mill.

Will Becher, Director at Aardman and YAY UK Judge, said about last year’s entries, “It was a joy to judge the Young Animator of The Year UK awards last year; I’m still inspired by the work from last year’s animators and can’t wait to see what amazing films they create this year!”
