Molinare has hired ex Pinewood Picture Services head, Darren Woolfson, as Director of Technology & Visual Services.

Woolfson has 30 years experience as a technical expert in the film and TV business. He started his career at Complete Video in Covent Garden and, in 1990, joined Molinare as Technical Director where he played a key role in the management buyout of the business in 2003 and its rejuvenation.

In 2007 he left Molinare to join the senior management team at Pinewood Studios in the role of Director of Technology to support Pinewood’s growth plans. During this time he managed and oversaw all aspects of technology associated with Feature Film, TV and Games production and post-production and latterly also ran the Group’s Picture Services division in the UK and across the Group’s international studios.

Molinare group MD Nigel Bennett, comments “I’m very excited that we have persuaded Darren to join the team. With his track record of delivering growth through technology across film, games and television post production. Molinare has ambitious plans and Darren’s breadth of experience across the media sector is a perfect match for our future strategy.”

Darren Woolfson comments “I’m really looking forward to joining Molinare, even under the very challenging global conditions right now. Technology will be one of the key drivers to the recovery of our industry and I am excited to be working with the team at Molinare to deliver this and other key strategies to help drive the business’s continued growth.”
