Welsh factual indie Wildflame Productions has entered into a strategic partnership with global media company Celebro, to help fuel the company’s push into the States.

From its base in Cardiff, the company has already secured a range of ambitious factual commissions for Discovery+, Smithsonian Channel/ViacomCBS and Science Channel.  This new move will give Wildflame a base in the US and a partnership from which to develop and deliver programmes for the US and international market.

The duo will share Wildflame’s production facilities and Celebro’s production facilities, giving both an operational production base which spans both the US and Wales.  They will also share staff across both companies, with the potential to co-fund new posts as shared projects arise; and they will also share office space.  There is also the opportunity for the two to develop and pitch projects together.

Paul Islwyn Thomas, CEO, Wildflame Productions, says: “With our international success so far, we know that Wildflame has the opportunity to really accelerate our growth in this area.  Our partnership with Celebro will enable us to get so much closer to the broadcasters and audiences we are serving and give us market-specific knowledge and expertise.  This partnership will also, in turn, fuel the development of our team in Cardiff which plays an integral part in the delivery of our international commissions. We are thrilled to be collaborating with Celebro.”

With offices on both the East and West coasts of America, Celebro’s studios are located in city centre locations in Washington DC, New York, London and Los Angeles, providing facilities and studios for broadcasters including BBC News, Fox News, CNN, Channel 4, France 24 and Al Jazeera . The company also provides ‘live-to-air’ transmission services for the BBC, Channel 4, Peloton and Facebook.

Llinos Griffin-Williams, Creative Director, Wildflame Productions, adds: “We have been looking for the right partner for some time and, for us, Celebro stands head and shoulders above the rest.  Their wealth of experience across both creative and facilities gives them a 360º understanding of broadcasters’ needs and a creative mindset informed by technology and innovation.  It’s a very powerful combination.  We are incredibly excited about our partnership and what it can bring for both Wildflame and Celebro.”

Wesley Dodd, Chief Executive, Celebro, comments: “Wildflame brings an impressive, creative ambition and the right approach to make high-profile international commissions.  They have an outstanding development slate and a clear understanding of what they bring to the international marketplace, and American broadcasters in particular. Their determination and creative flair makes them an extremely exciting partner for us and we cannot wait to get started.”
