Factual indie Wild Pictures has made two new hires for its development team – Wendy Robins (pictured) and Elaine Carlton.

Wendy Robbins joins the Miriam’s Big American Adventure indie as an executive producer from CTVC, where she originated and developed three-parter The Pilgrimage and the RTS-winning Welcome to Mayfair for BBC2, plus Channel 4’s Grierson-nominated 90-minute doc Murder workers.

The former BBC factual producer, who has appeared on-air as a reporter on BBC1’s The One Show and Sunday Morning Live, will report to Wild creative director Paul Hamann and work predominantly in development, but will also take production duties on future commissions.

To support Hamann and Robbins, Elaine Carlton joins as development producer from ITV Studios’ Shiver, where she originated current affairs programmes for the Tonight strand and secured Trevor McDonald’s exclusive interview with Sion Jenkins, father of murdered foster daughter Billie-Jo Jenkins.

Carlton originated, produced and directed the RTS-shortlisted The Greatest Gift, in which a father who donated his son’s organs met the boy who received his son’s heart, on camera, plus ITV two-parter: School Swap -The Class Divide, where a headteacher and pupils from a state school swapped places with their counterparts at a private school.

Hamann added: “I’m really excited to refresh our development team with two outstanding and talented producers who both have considerable flair – and crucially, always deliver.”
