VFX house Daydreamer has rejigged its leadership team, “solidifying the roles of all four partners as the company enters its next chapter.”

Chris Allen and Cat Hammond, Daydreamer’s Executive Producers, will be stepping into newly defined roles to support the studio’s expansion and “sharpen its focus on innovation and operational excellence.”

Chris Allen, formerly an Executive Producer at The Mill London and one of its “leading sales EPs”, will now take on the role of Managing Director.

Cat Hammond, previously Head of Production at The Mill London, will step into the role of Operations Director.

While stepping into these leadership roles, both Allen and Hammond will continue to Executive Produce projects and remain fully hands-on in crafting “brave, beautifully executed work.”

Alongside these changes, Pete Rypstra and Matt Fuller will move from their roles as Creative Directors into new positions as Executive Creative Directors. This change “reflects their continued leadership across Daydreamer’s creative output and paves the way for the next generation of Creative Directors to grow within the company.”

“It feels like a natural progression for us,” says Pete Rypstra. “We’re passionate about developing new voices and building on the creative momentum we’ve been cultivating as a team.”

“We’ve always pushed ourselves creatively, but now we also get to focus on inspiring and mentoring others to do the same,” adds Matt Fuller. “It’s an exciting moment for us and for the future of the studio.”

“As we grow, it’s important that we play to our individual strengths while continuing to stay close to the work we love,” says Cat Hammond. “This structure allows us to do just that, giving the studio room to scale while keeping creativity and people at the centre.”

“We’ve always wanted Daydreamer to be a place that says yes to bold ideas, which I feel is showcased by the incredible body of work we’ve produced over the last year or so.” adds Chris Allen. “This evolution in our leadership allows us to do that more effectively, to keep pushing boundaries while building something that lasts.”
