McDonald’s World Menu Heist is a globe-trotting adventure created by Leo Burnett UK, following a mission to recover McDonald’s most iconic menu items from around the world.

Directed by Academy’s Henry Scholfield and shot on location in Bangkok, the campaign pairs action with VFX from Black Kite Studios, whose work is designed to deliver the film’s cinematic scale.

Taking audiences from snow-covered mountain peaks to the depths of the ocean, the film required an extensive mix of CG and invisible effects. The Black Kite team created expansive snowy environments, fully CG light aircraft and aerial landscapes, dynamic flying McDonald’s burger boxes and integrated visual effects that sit within the live-action photography.

Alongside CG asset creation, the team delivered environment work, animation, compositing and effects simulations, ensuring every digital element supported the scale and playful energy of the heist.
