UKTV orders four original series for Dave

UKTV has ordered four original series for entertainment channel Dave – Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable from Expectation; a reorder for Renegade’s World’s Most Dangerous Roads, a new series of Hypothetical from Hat Trick and another series of Comedians Giving lectures.from 12 Yard.

Produced by Expectation, Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable (8×60) invites three celebrity guests along to Mel’s confessional each week to find out who’s committed sins that are so bad that they should be declared ‘unforgivable’. The competitive comedians will dare to sin it, to win it.

Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable is commissioned by Hilary Rosen, UKTV deputy director of comissioning and head of factual & factual entertainment and Luke Hales, Dave channel director. The series is ordered by Richard Watsham, director of commissioning and Steve North, genre manager, comedy and entertainment. Executive producer for Expectation is Ben Wicks, Hilary will executive produce for UKTV. Dominic Wells-Martin will series produce.

World’s Most Dangerous Roads is coming back to screens for a brand new series (8×60′). Produced by Renegade Pictures for Dave, the show returns with a vengeance as each episode brings together a pair of comedians to send them out on an extraordinary road trip.

Back on TV for the first time since 2012, the new series has been extended to eight episodes. Existing friendships and rivalries will be tested to their limits, as household name comics get behind the wheel for some of the most perilous conditions, phenomenal landscapes and riveting driving challenges to be found across the globe.

World’s Most Dangerous Roads is produced by Renegade Pictures, commissioned for UKTV by Hilary Rosen, deputy director of commissioning and head of factual, and ordered for Dave by Richard Watsham, director of commissioning, Luke Hales, Dave channel director, and Steve North, genre general manager, comedy and entertainment. World’s Most Dangerous Roads is executive produced by Harry Lansdown and Natalie Wilkinson and the series director is Graeme Hart. The series will be distributed by BBC Studios Distribution.

World’s Most Dangerous Roads airs on Dave later this year.

Ahead of the launch of series two tonight, UKTV has confirmed it will bring back stars Josh Widdicombe and James Acaster for a third series of their theoretical comedy show Hypothetical (8×60′). Hypothetical series three will air on Dave later this year.

UKTV announces today that Comedians Giving Lectures, hosted by Sara Pascoe, is returning to Dave for two brand new series (2 x 6×40′). The UKTV Original series, produced by 12 Yard Productions, was one of the top performing commissions on Dave in 2019 attracting an audience of over half a million.

Comedians Giving Lectures joins an array of UKTV Originals coming to Dave in 2020, including Hypothetical S2, Meet The Richardsons, Sliced S2 starring and co-written by BAFTA-nominated Samson Kayo, and the upcoming Comedy Against Living Miserably, a series of stand-up specials in partnership with CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably).
