Cineflix Media has hired Jimmy Baker as SVP, Development, Cineflix Productions.

Baker will focus on developing unscripted series and returnable formats destined for networks and platforms in the UK and North America. Initially based in London, he will work with Cineflix’s creative teams in North America and report to Dave Hamilton, EVP, Development. He will also work closely with the development team at Twenty Six 03 Entertainment, Cineflix Media’s UK joint venture with Duncan Gray.

Baker was most recently at Hat Trick Productions, where his credits include co-creating the hit format Dinner Date, with regional versions produced in Australia, France, South Africa, and Finland. He was the originator and co-creator of Tumble as well as co-creator of the primetime entertainment food competition series BBQ Champ. Baker was also part of the teams responsible for developing What’s The Right Diet For You? and re-vamping Room 101 as well as Let’s Sing and Dance.

“Jimmy has the rare talent of being able to transform innovative ideas into must-watch series. He’s a great addition to our team with a skill set that complements Cineflix’s development strategy,” said Dave Hamilton, EVP, Development, Cineflix Productions.

“There is great synergy between the teams at Cineflix and Twenty Six 03 and I look forward to developing original content that resonates with audiences on both sides of the pond,” said Jimmy Baker.

The hire follows the recent appointment of Bernard Periatambee to VP, Development, who is based out of the Toronto office.
