Rebellion’s post apocalyptic game, Atomfall, is to be adapted for television by All3Media’s Two Brothers Pictures and Rebellion.

The Atomfall game is set five years after the Windscale nuclear disaster in Northern England with players exploring the fictional quarantine zone as they “scavenge, craft, barter, fight and talk” their way through a British countryside setting filled with “bizarre characters, mysticism, cults, and rogue government agencies.”

The Atomfall TV Show will be written Two Brothers’ Harry and Jack Williams (Fleabag, The Assassin, The Missing, Baptiste, The Tourist), and Executive Produced by Harry, Jack and Alex Mercer (The Assassin, Maya, The Tourist, Doctor Who) for Two Brothers.  For Rebellion, Jason and Chris Kingsley (Sniper Elite 1-5, Zombie Army 1-4, Dredd, School’s Out Forever, Rogue Trooper) will Executive Produce alongside Ben Smith (School’s Out Forever, Rogue Trooper).

Founded in 1992 by brothers Jason and Chris Kingsley, Rebellion produces video games including Sniper Elite and Zombie Army alongside books, comics (Roy of the Rovers, 2000 AD), TV, film, board games and more. In 2018 the company opened Rebellion Film and TV studios in Didcot, releasing the first Rebellion-produced feature film, Schools Out Forever, in 2021.

Harry and Jack Williams, writers and executive producers at Two Brothers, said: “Atomfall has such a distinctive British tone and setting, and it’s been a real joy developing it alongside the Rebellion team – especially as two brothers working alongside two brothers.”

The Kingsley brothers said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Two Brothers to bring the world of Atomfall to television. Harry and Jack demonstrated a clear love for Atomfall and talked about their own particular endings when they were playing the game. It is always exciting to work with people who share the same passion for creating and telling great stories and we are sure that this partnership will help to deliver a television series that will delight fans of the game and beyond.”
