Cal Turner is to join Channel 4’s Factual Entertainment department as commissioning editor.

Turner joins from Naked where she has worked across factual entertainment formats from The Apprentice and Snowflake Mountain, to Grand Designs and 60 Days with Ed Stafford.

Working to head of Factual Entertainment, Alf Lawrie, Turner will be part of the team responsible for titles including The Great British Bake Off, Married At First Sight, Gogglebox, and Celebrity Hunted.

Alf Lawrie said of Turner “Cal is one of the most talented execs in the industry, and I’m overjoyed that she has joined our team. Her Channel 4 pedigree stretches back to iconic shows such as The Tower Block Of Commons and Jamie’s Dream School, and her incredible range spans from remit-defining purposeful ideas right through to the biggest, 9pm blockbusters. I am looking forward to working with her to find the next generation of iconic Channel 4 titles.”

Fatima Salaria, md, Naked, said: “Under the stewardship of Cal, our Fact Ent team have produced some truly brilliant shows, including The Apprentice which continues to go from strength to strength, Ed Stafford’s 60 Days with the Gypsies and our forthcoming Netflix series Snowflake Mountain. We will miss Cal at Naked, but look forward to working with her in her new role at Channel 4.”
