True North has announced the appointment of former Channel 4 Growth Fund Exec Norma Wisnevitz as its new Chief Operating Officer.
Wisnevitz who until recently held the role of Senior Portfolio Manager at Chanel 4’s Indie Growth Fund will take up her new role at True North this month.
In her role Wisnevitz will work with the company’s Creative Directors to steer the company through its next phase of growth, as it pushes ahead with plans to expand its slate into the US and other international territories.
In her role at the Channel 4 Indie Growth Fund, Wisnevitz worked across their investment portfolio – on both new investments and as portfolio manager and board observer across the portfolio.
Prior to joining Channel Four, she was Finance Director at UK and US television production company Optomen Television, where she helped grow the business and sell it to All3Media. She started her career in the UK, working in finance at Talkback Productions.
True North Creative Director and Founder, Andrew Sheldon, said: ‘We’re delighted that Norma will be joining us. Her experience at the Growth Fund and in some of the UK’s most successful indies means that she knows what makes a production company tick, and her passion for production means she’s going to be a great addition to our team’.
Wisnevitz commented: “I am thrilled to be joining the True North team at this exciting time for the Leeds production community as I have been an admirer of Jess and Andrew since the C4 growth fund investment.”
