Channel 4 has released the first trailer and new images of Jack Thorne’s new drama, Falling, starring Keeley Hawes and Paapa Essiedu.
Produced by The Forge Entertainment (A Woman of Substance, The Buccaneers, National Treasure), a Banijay UK company, Keeley Hawes stars as a devoted nun and Paapa Essiedu as a Catholic priest.
Created and written by BAFTA award-winning writer Jack Thorne’s (Adolescence, Help) in his first ever love story; both Anna (Hawes) and David (Essiedu) are deeply committed to their work in the church and in their community. Neither expected to fall in love. But when they do, both are forced to wrestle with what it means for them, their vows, and their relationship with God.
Further looks have also been released from Falling that include cast members Jason Watkins (Coma, The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies) as Peter, Niamh Cusack (The Virtues, Heartbeat) as Francesca, Rakie Ayola (The Pact, Kaos) as Muriel, David Dawson (My Policeman, The Last Kingdom) as Phil and Adrian Scarborough (Gavin and Stacey, The Chelsea Detective) as Francis.
Filming took place in Bristol and Wales and the 6×60” drama is executive produced by George Ormond, George Faber, Jack Thorne and Peter Hoar. Joe Donaldson produces. Peter Hoar was the director for Block 1 and Sasha Ransome for Block 2. Falling will be distributed internationally by Banijay Rights.
